West Goshen Township Extends Real Estate Tax Face Amount Due Date

Township extends Real Estate Tax Face Amount in Support of Residents Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

WEST CHESTER, PA (May 20, 2020) — To offer assistance to residents and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, West Goshen Township is extending the Township Real Estate Tax Face Amount due date to October 31, 2020 which allows residents and businesses additional time to pay their annual Township Real Estate Tax bills.

At their May 19, 2020 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was unanimous in approving the Real Estate Tax Face Amount due date extension to October 31, 2020.  Pennsylvania Act 15 of 2020 allows municipalities to extend Real Estate Tax collection due dates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The original Real Estate Tax Face Amount due date was June 30, 2020.  The Board considered the Face Amount extension as a measure to support the residents and businesses in West Goshen Township who may be experiencing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Real Estate Tax Face Amount due date extension to October 31, 2020 allows those residential and business property owners to pay their tax bill without penalty until October 31st.  From November 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, those property owners who did not pay their Township Real Estate Tax Bill will be assessed a 10% penalty on the Face Amount of their Real Estate Tax bills.  Any Township Real Estate Tax not paid by December 31, 2020 will be forwarded to the Chester County Tax Claim Bureau.
